October 2026 Project of the Month: PCC Madison Valley

If you’ve lived in the Seattle area for any length of time, you know PCC. What started as a food-buying club of 15 families in the 1950s is now the region’s largest community-owned food co-op, with 17 neighborhood markets. From the beginning, PCC has built its business on strong relationships with Northwest farmers and producers, and it holds the stores it builds to the same standard.

PCC’s newest market opened October 14 at 2925 E. Madison St. in Madison Valley. The 24,000-square-foot store sits on the ground floor of The Arbory, and PCC has been planning it since signing the lease in 2016. It’s the co-op’s 17th neighborhood market, and after nearly a decade of preparation, Madison Valley now has a full-service PCC with the local, organic offerings the co-op is known for.

We’ve worked alongside PCC for almost ten years. Across multiple locations, we’ve built interior and exterior signage that supports what PCC stands for: local craftsmanship, reclaimed materials, energy-efficient lighting, and chemical-free finishes. The salvaged wood signs you see throughout their stores are one example. Our most recent project together was the Downtown Corner Market, which we featured in August 2025. Madison Valley is the first full-size store we’ve done with them since.

Madison Valley brings together much of that history in one building. For this store, we produced an array of signs, including:

  • Exterior: Illuminated Canopy Sign with LED Trimless Channel Letters

  • Interior Wayfinding: Locally Sourced White Oak Aisle Guides and Headers

  • Environmental Graphics: Sustainable Digital Printed Wallpaper

  • Specialty Pieces: Hand-Painted Mural on Locally Sourced Veneer

We are especially proud of the wall-mounted Hand-Painted Mural on Locally Sourced Veneer on the south side feature wall above the reach-in coolers. This monumental EGD work features iconic PCC mission statement elements and even though it’s on the south side, it’s acts as a north star for the community. Our entire team helped make this one-of-a-kind piece and we’re proud to finally unveil after months of meticulous work.

We know that a relationship like this one is built one project at a time. Every new store is a chance to refine the details, from how a sign is mounted to how a finish holds up in a busy grocery. Nearly ten years in, PCC remains one of the clients whose values we most closely share, and we’re honored to have our work in their newest neighborhood market. If you’re in the area, stop by and take a look.
