April 2026 Project of the Month: Aslan Seward Park
Aslan Brewing Company started the way many breweries do – in a college town basement. What sets Aslan Brewing Company apart, however, is the heart behind both the brew and its crew. Founded in 2012, the team quickly grew by learning from their community and friends. Just two years after pouring their first drink, they renovated a historic space in Bellingham and opened Aslan’s Brewpub. Their team and partnership continued to expand and only a couple years later, they opened their second location, Aslan Depot in Seattle, further establishing their presence in the region.
By 2025, Aslan had grown to include two additional locations, Aslan Brewing Fremont and Aslan Brewing Tangletown. Tangletown serving as their first all-ages community space. This intentional growth paired with their commitment to certified organic beer has played a major role in their continued success. Each location offers something unique, from the event space at Aslan Depot, to their partnership with Local Tide at Fremont, and the welcoming, all-ages atmosphere just blocks from Green Lake at Tangletown.
As of April 1, 2026 (no, it’s not a prank), Aslan has opened a new location in Seward Park. This location continues inclusively with an all-ages welcome environment, a pizza-focused menu, and outdoor, dog-friendly seating.
We attended their soft opening at the end of March and were struck by the excitement and strong community turnout. Seward Park, located in the southeastern corner of Seattle, offers a beautiful and inviting setting. Driving in, we were greeted by lush trees just beginning to bloom with spring and despite the crowd that showed up, parking was surprisingly easy. The neighborhood blends a quaint charm with classic Seattle character, making this location an ideal spot for a weekly hangout with friends or coworkers.
With a new location comes new signage. At Seward Park, a canopy lines the street above the outdoor seating, featuring a fresh take on Aslan's cursive script distinct from their other locations. At Tangletown, we previously fabricated a double-faced neon sign featuring their lion head logo. For Seward Park, we hand-fabricated a custom 10’x3.5’ canopy sign using aluminum reverse pan channel letters painted black, paired with 15mm 6500K Ablon white exposed neon, totaling 66 linear feet. The canopy sign’s clean, bold design is undeniably eye-catching and draws people in, which was evident during the soft opening.
Aslan Brewing’s growth story is one of thoughtful expansion, strong community connection, and an unwavering commitment to quality. From its basement beginnings to a growing network of welcoming neighborhood space, each location reflects not just a business milestone, but a deeper investment in the communities it serves. The opening of Seward Park is another clear step forward, bringing people together over great beer, great food, and intentional design that invites everyone in.
