Project of The Month: Delta Dental Arrives in South Lake Union

Western Neon is pleased to welcome Pacific Northwest icon Delta Dental to the South Lake Union neighborhood, one of the world’s most dynamic hubs for tech, startups, and innovative companies. Since 1954, Delta Dental has been at the forefront of personal healthcare and was the first dental benefits company in the United States. Delta Dental joins Tommy Bahama, Impinj, and Car Toy’s/Wireless Advocates by acquiring just over 61,000 square feet of office space in the newly built LEED platinum building located at 400 Fairview.

As the built environment of South Lake Union continues to grow in strength, we’re excited to collaborate with local, national, and global partners to help add iconic signage and wayfinding to an area designated as one of seven unique Innovation Districts in the United States by the Brookings Institute because of its emphasis on connectivity, technology, and community.

At almost 50 feet in length and 7 feet in height with over 8,460 diodes of LED illumination backing hydro-cut polycarbonate channel letters fabricated from aluminum – this monumental sign, designed by our in-house team, serves as a permanent beacon for Delta Dental’s history, current activities, and bright future in our growing region. Western Neon is proud to be part of this trajectory, always ready for the next challenge as Seattle quickly evolves into a world-class city.
