Uptown Espresso was established in 1984 in Queen Anne and today has 7 locations throughout Seattle. Their signature difference outside of having expert baristas and quality products is their famous velvet foam.

Western Neon has designed and fabricated three different types of signs for multiple Uptown Espresso locations. The first being a single sided wall sign measuring at 8’x3’4″ which features single-stroke 6500 white neon mounted over vinyl lettering on a satin black aluminum sign cabinet. The logo is reverse channel aluminum with vinyl graphics applied and halo-lit with 6500 White neon. The second style of signage is non-illuminated and reads, “Home of the Velvet Foam” highlighting their products star in brush script font made from 1/2″ acrylic w beveled edges at 23’2″x2′. The last and probably most iconic version of all is the 3’x5′ Uptown Espresso cup replica that was routed out and backed with white curved acrylic. The coffee and Uptown’s popular velvet foam was made from carved HDV sign foam secured by a round rubber rim. This sign is illuminated by 35 linear feet of 6500 white neon.
